BalticTaxi helps children with special needs to get to the school and back

Together with other pupils, this new school year is started by children with special needs.

To make this first day at school more special for children with severe disability, BalticTaxi in cooperation with the association of people with disabilities and their friends “Apeirons” helped children with special needs and their parents to get to the school and back free of charge on the first day at school. This year, this option was applied for and used by 11 families from Riga and nearest towns. The children with special needs and their parents went from Mārupe, Ulbroka, Ķekava region, Babīte region and other districts to school by BalticTaxi. This is already the second year when BalticTaxi organises the option for children with special needs and their parents to apply for the free ride to school and back and this activity has become a tradition. “This year, almost 200 families having children with special needs all over Latvia were offered this option. We will offer the free rides on the first days of school also the coming year,” tells J. Naglis, BalticTaxi board member. Having assessed the last year’s efforts of BalticTaxi for the benefit of children with special needs to make their first day at school more joyful and special, this year the company has acquired a cooperation partner SIA UniCredit Leasing, granting children useful items for school. The little riders found out about the present only at the end of the ride, so it was a real unexpected and pleasant surprise. “I believe that by helping others we help ourselves to assess our true range of values. This is the possibility to remind ourselves that we are successful and active, possibly exactly for the purpose of supporting those who need it,” this is how UniCredit Leasing chairperson of the board Jevgenijs Belezjaks comments their joining BalticTaxi initiative and wishes the pupils joy, curiosity and large success.
